Blending an Inclusive Team: Raising a Cup to Our AAPI Teams

Honoring AAPI Heritage at Botrista

In celebration of AAPI Heritage Month, Botrista takes immense pride in honoring the invaluable contributions of its diverse workforce—especially the voices of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. Founded in Taiwan and led by CEO Sean Hsu, Botrista’s mission is deeply rooted in the rich heritage, culture, and traditions of the AAPI community.

“As a Taiwanese founder, I take great pride in the incredible contributions that the Asian American and Pacific Islander community has made to this nation’s vibrant culture and prosperity,” Hsu said.

He added, “In addition, our team members have contributed so much to our success and quality over the years. Our roots are AAPI.”

Celebrating Identity, Culture, and Craft

“To me, being AAPI means identity, tolerance and evolution,” said Phetsamone Sayavong, Botrista’s in-house beverage specialist. Phet is responsible for many of Botrista’s most craveable craft drink recipes. “It’s easier to connect with someone when you give them something delicious,” he shared.

Botrista’s strong foundation in AAPI culture allows the company to showcase high-quality ingredients from across Asia. These include matcha sourced from seventh-generation family farms in Japan and freshly harvested yuzu from South Korea. The AAPI community has shaped and elevated Botrista’s drink innovation at every stage.

Creating a Culture of Inclusion

“I immediately felt part of an organization that was diverse and inclusive,” said Nic Syzdek from the Regional Sales Team. Spending much of his time on the road, Nic encounters a wide range of cultures in his daily work. He says he values being part of a team that encourages and celebrates different backgrounds and ideas.

“Just look at any team picture—you’ll find amazing people representing a variety of cultures!”

Supporting AAPI Communities Beyond the Workplace

Botrista’s commitment to the AAPI community extends far beyond its internal team. The company proudly supports the Taiwanese American Advancement Foundation (TAAF), an organization dedicated to empowering the Taiwanese American community through education, leadership development, and cultural preservation.

“I’m proud of Botrista’s recognition and support of organizations like TAAF,” Phet continued. “The more we speak up, the easier it is for people to recognize our value in the world.”

“Our partnership with TAAF is a testament to our unwavering dedication to nurturing the next generation of AAPI leaders,” explains [INSERT NAME/TITLE]. “By investing in their growth and success, we are paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable future.”

A Continued Commitment to AAPI Voices

As Botrista continues to transform the beverage industry, the company remains committed to fostering an environment where AAPI voices are celebrated, respected, and empowered. Through its support of AAPI employees, partners and organizations, Botrista demonstrates how embracing cultural diversity drives innovation, strengthens communities and creates lasting impact.
